About The Troop
Troop 119 follows the tenet of Boy Scouting that encourages a boy led Troop. Gentle guidance by the Troop leadership is employed to ensure that the Scouts are making wise and safe decisions in the management of Troop activities. Scouts are responsible for planning meetings, choosing camping trips, designing menus, and electing Scout leaders from among their ranks.
The seven ranks of Boy Scouts illustrated above are roughly divided into two groups, the skills ranks and the leadership ranks. The earlier ranks emphasize learning outdoor and other skills that make a safe and self-sufficient Scout. The later ranks primarily revolve around developing leadership skills as the Scout takes on a larger role and more responsibility in his Troop and community.
